The photo collection of Maison de l’image began in 2012 and is mostly composed of pictures of 19th Century Tunisia, with others from photographer Henri Tibi shot between 1960 and 1970. The archive contains almost 3500 pictures and argentic positives, both black & white pictures as well as color, in addition to digital files. Photos have been acquired by buying or deposit and the collection is still on-going.
The collection comprises books ranging from classical and rare researches, books about Tunisia, contemporary and rare editions, exhibitions’ catalogues, and a selection of publications coming from publishing houses from all over the world.
The collection is partially registered on a database available for researchers and students interested in Tunisian Art History.
